01

Choose your kind of rally

Beach paddles, badminton rackets and catching scoops create very different games. Decide whether you want to keep a rally going together, practise alone or play across a marked boundary. Check the included balls and rackets carefully; a set name does not always tell you everything in the bag.

02

Let the ball set the pace

A soft, slower ball can make first attempts easier. Wind changes the flight of light balls and shuttlecocks, so adapt your game to the conditions. Stand close enough to return the ball comfortably, then increase the distance. Leave room behind and beside each player for a safe swing.

03

Make equipment last

Clear sand and dirt from grips and dry equipment before putting it away. Inspect strings, paddle faces and balls for damage. Avoid leaving equipment in a hot car or in the rain. For tethered trainers, follow the setup instructions and keep other people away from the rebound area.

FAQ

Good to know

Which game is easiest for beginners?

A short cooperative rally with a soft ball is a simple introduction. Choose light equipment that the player can hold comfortably.

Can I play without a net?

Many casual paddle and badminton games work without a net. Agree on a safe area and aim to keep the rally going.
